The Twitter Phenomena

Posted on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 11:39AM by Registered CommenterFred in | Comments2 Comments
I was one of the first. This crazy little thing called Twitter...I actually started about a year ago when one of my favorite little tech magazines (WIRED) tipped me off to the mini-blogging app. Still unsure of how it is making money, it is sweeping the mobile devices around the country...cluing everyone into everyone's mundane life. Trust me, mine is somewhat mundane :) But it's information at the speed of Twitter.

I follow 16 or so people and receive their Twitters on my iPhone (be prepared to have an unlimited data plan if you choose to do this) and they are close friends...so it's fun bantering at each other throughout the day, or knowing when one of us is having a hard time, or has great news to share, etc. Wanna follow? Be my guest :D

This is the last day to vote!

Pacific Weddings (a well respected wedding publication circulated heavily on the west coast and in Hawaii) is holding their Last Word Photo Contest right now. They've been gracious enough to choose one of my images as a finalist...the rest is up to you!

Now would be an awesome time to help make that bad birthday/burglary experience a distant memory. The winner receives a full page ad (est. $4K) in the upcoming Summer/Fall issue of Pacific Weddings.

I'm bringing the mixed tape back baby...every Tuesday I'll serve up a mixed tape, courtesy of Muxtape, a simple way to share and create mp3 mixtapes.

This week's mixtape: Electronic Tonic

It's time for a shout out. Meghan Bingle...I'm calling you out for your awesome support and liaising (yeah, that just happened...I used that word). Meghan is the voice and face of Into the Darkroom. We've been chatting an awful lot over that past few months because of some projects Into the Darkroom and I are working on together. Fun stuff that I'm so looking forward to sharing with you guys!

She's been totally accommodating and patient with my incessant demands/creative ideas (think Andy/Miranda dynamic in Devil Wears Prada). I think I'm single handedly responsible for her exhaustion in the above photo (which I hijacked from her Facebook sans her knowledge). She's integral to my experience with ITDR.

Got a question? I ring Meghan. DONE.
Something not quite right? I ring Meghan. DONE.
Overlook something? Meghan rings me. DONE.

Now that is something to blog about. DONE.
