All I can say about the race last week was "WOW." I didn't think the race would be that intense but the 30 mile free for all was over in 4 days! Although I didn't win, I want to thank each and everyone who ran for pushing me to run more in 4 days time than I have in a long time.

Sean McLellan beat out the field with Jasmine Star coming in very, very close second place. Check out both of their blogs, they're doing some great work over there and letting us all in on some fun tidbits about themselves.

For all of those who entered the race, pleaes pay attention: due to a technicatlity (on my part of course), I've discovered the minumum amount you can "gift" someone via an email gift certificate is $10. I'm going to go ahead and honor this technicality by sending Sean $10 (in fact, I already have) and I would encourage all those who are able to do the same. Send your email gift certificates from the iTunes store to sean@mclellanstudio.com and include a happy little note ;)

From here on out the Race Fee will be a $10 iTunes Email Gift Certificate BUT I promise you the races will last longer than 4 days. I'm currently putting together the specifications for the next race...please leave comments if you have any fun ideas!

maybe it'd be good to have different categories, so the people that can barely run a mile aren't trying to compete against people that can go 10 miles no problem.

I'm SO with Mark on that one. I had no idea that people could run 8, 9, 10 miles in a day. I was so proud when I got home exhausted from completing 3.5 miles. That was SUCH a push for me. It was fun though! Fred, have you heard about Liana's new competition? 100km in 30 days?

FYI...I never thought I could run 10 miles in a single day...it's amazing what a little competition can do to a girl! ;) Thanks for putting all this together, Fred!

Same here--I never thought I could even run 2 miles in a single day! It's all about the competition. Thanks again, Fred for coming up with a great idea and getting us all off the computers.

congrats sean+jas - it felt awesome to get out of this house, and off my computer - to take a breather...no matter how long. it was a big stretch for me to go as far as i did. i was trying to think of a ways to limit the race so it isn't over so soon, but it's kinda hard - because you don't want to discourage people from pushing themselves. i guess maybe if we set up 2 races that amateur runners like me and hardcore runners could choose from :) then again, the thought of tough competition really pushed me. so i dunno! <3 k.

I'm glad to hear you are going to organize another one. I wanted to participate in the last one, but wasn't able to. Next time though, I'm in!

A fun idea might be to run "across Texas" How many miles is it at it's furthest point?
